حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو رَمْلَةَ عَنْ مِخْنَفِ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ قَالَكُنَّا وَقُوفًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعَرَفَةَ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ عَلَى كُلِّ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ أُضْحِيَّةً وَعَتِيرَةً أَتَدْرُونَ مَا الْعَتِيرَةُ هِيَ الَّتِي يُسَمِّيهَا النَّاسُ الرَّجَبِيَّةَ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Bakar bin Abu Syaibah] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Mu'adz bin Mu'adz] dari [Ibnu 'Aun] dia berkata; telah memberitakan kepada kami [Abu Ramlah] dari [Mikhnaf bin Sulaim] dia berkata, "Kami sedang wukuf di Arafah di sisi Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, lalu beliau bersabda: "Wahai manusia, sesungguhnya wajib atas setiap keluarga untuk berkurban dan menyembelih hewan kurban setiap tahunnya, tahukah kalian apa yang dimaksud dengan menyembelih hewan? Itulah yang biasa disebut-sebut oleh orang-orang dengan sebutan Rajabiyah (menyembelih hewan pada bulan Rajab)."

Imam Ibn Majah compiled the last of the six major hadith collections (Kutub al-Sittah). He travelled widely to collect hadiths — through Iraq, Basra, Syria, Egypt, and Arabia. His collection contains unique narrations not found in the other five collections, though scholars note some weaker chains.
Ibn Majah's collection was later added to the Kutub al-Sittah by Imam al-Maqdisi. It contains approximately 4,341 hadiths including narrations unique to this collection.
