حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ يَقُولُنَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَسْتَقْبِلَ الَّذِي يَذْهَبُ إِلَى الْغَائِطِ الْقِبْلَةَ وَقَالَ شَرِّقُوا أَوْ غَرِّبُوا
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Ath Thahir Ahmad bin Amru bin As Sarh] berkata, telah memberitakan kepada kami [Abdullah bin Wahb] berkata, telah mengabarkan kepadaku [Yunus] dari [Ibnu Syihab] dari ['Atho`] Bahwasanya ia mendengar [Abu Ayyub Al Anshari] berkata; "Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam melarang orang yang ingin buang hajat menghadap kiblat. Beliau bersabda: "Menghadaplah ke timur atau ke barat."

Imam Ibn Majah compiled the last of the six major hadith collections (Kutub al-Sittah). He travelled widely to collect hadiths — through Iraq, Basra, Syria, Egypt, and Arabia. His collection contains unique narrations not found in the other five collections, though scholars note some weaker chains.
Ibn Majah's collection was later added to the Kutub al-Sittah by Imam al-Maqdisi. It contains approximately 4,341 hadiths including narrations unique to this collection.
