حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الرَّقِّيُّ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زِيَادٍ الْأَسَدِيُّ أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَعَامُ الْوَاحِدِ يَكْفِي الِاثْنَيْنِ وَطَعَامُ الِاثْنَيْنِ يَكْفِي الْأَرْبَعَةَ وَطَعَامُ الْأَرْبَعَةِ يَكْفِي الثَّمَانِيَةَ
English Translation
Telah memberitakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Abdullah Ar Raqqi] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Yahya bin Ziyad Al Asadi] telah memberitakan kepada kami [Ibnu Juraij] telah memberitakan kepada kami [Abu Az Zubair] dari [Jabir bin Abdullah] dia berkata, "Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Satu makanan cukup untuk dua orang, dua makanan cukup untuk empat orang dan empat makanan cukup untuk delapan orang."

Imam Ibn Majah compiled the last of the six major hadith collections (Kutub al-Sittah). He travelled widely to collect hadiths — through Iraq, Basra, Syria, Egypt, and Arabia. His collection contains unique narrations not found in the other five collections, though scholars note some weaker chains.
Ibn Majah's collection was later added to the Kutub al-Sittah by Imam al-Maqdisi. It contains approximately 4,341 hadiths including narrations unique to this collection.
