حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ قُرَّةَ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى أَنْ يُصَلَّى عَلَى قَارِعَةِ الطَّرِيقِ أَوْ يُضْرَبَ الْخَلَاءُ عَلَيْهَا أَوْ يُبَالَ فِيهَا
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Yahya] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Amru bin Khalid] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ibnu Lahi'ah] dari [Qurrah] dari [Ibnu Syihab] dari [Salim] dari [Bapaknya] berkata; "Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam melarang shalat di tengah jalan, atau menjadikannya sebagai tempat buang air besar, atau kencing di sana."

Imam Ibn Majah compiled the last of the six major hadith collections (Kutub al-Sittah). He travelled widely to collect hadiths — through Iraq, Basra, Syria, Egypt, and Arabia. His collection contains unique narrations not found in the other five collections, though scholars note some weaker chains.
Ibn Majah's collection was later added to the Kutub al-Sittah by Imam al-Maqdisi. It contains approximately 4,341 hadiths including narrations unique to this collection.
