حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُلَيٍّ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَذْكُرُ عَنْ سُرَاقَةَ بْنِ مَالِكٍأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى أَفْضَلِ الصَّدَقَةِ ابْنَتُكَ مَرْدُودَةً إِلَيْكَ لَيْسَ لَهَا كَاسِبٌ غَيْرُكَ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Bakar bin Abu Syaibah] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Zaid bin Hubab] dari [Musa bin Ali] saya mendengar [Ayahku] menyebutkan dari [Suraqah bin Malik], bahwa Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Maukah aku tunjukkan kepada kalian sebaik-baik sedekah? Yaitu puterimu di kembalikan kepadamu, sedangkan ia tidak memiliki sandaran hidup (yang membiayai) selain dirimu."

Imam Ibn Majah compiled the last of the six major hadith collections (Kutub al-Sittah). He travelled widely to collect hadiths — through Iraq, Basra, Syria, Egypt, and Arabia. His collection contains unique narrations not found in the other five collections, though scholars note some weaker chains.
Ibn Majah's collection was later added to the Kutub al-Sittah by Imam al-Maqdisi. It contains approximately 4,341 hadiths including narrations unique to this collection.
