حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ وَإِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَأَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْإِبِلِ وَلَا نَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْغَنَمِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Basysyar] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abdurrahman bin Mahdi] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Za`idah] dan [Isra`il] dari [Asy'ats bin Abu Asy Sya'tsa`] dari [Ja'far bin Abu Tsaur] dari [Jabir bin Samurah] berkata; " Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam memerintahkan kami untuk berwudlu karena makan daging unta, dan tidak berwudlu karena makan daging kambing."

Imam Ibn Majah compiled the last of the six major hadith collections (Kutub al-Sittah). He travelled widely to collect hadiths — through Iraq, Basra, Syria, Egypt, and Arabia. His collection contains unique narrations not found in the other five collections, though scholars note some weaker chains.
Ibn Majah's collection was later added to the Kutub al-Sittah by Imam al-Maqdisi. It contains approximately 4,341 hadiths including narrations unique to this collection.
