حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي رَافِعٍ عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ سَلْمَى عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَافَ عَلَى نِسَائِهِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ وَكَانَ يَغْتَسِلُ عِنْدَ كُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ فَقِيلَ لَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَلَا تَجْعَلُهُ غُسْلًا وَاحِدًا فَقَالَ هُوَ أَزْكَى وَأَطْيَبُ وَأَطْهَرُ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ishaq bin Manshur] berkata, telah memberitakan kepada kami [Abdu Ash Shamad] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Hammad] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abdurrahman bin Abu Rafi'] dari bibinya [Salma] dari [Abu Rafi'], berkata; "Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam menggilir semua isterinya semalam, dan beliau mandi setiap menggilir salah seorang dari mereka. Beliau lalu ditanya; "Ya Rasulullah, kenapa tidak engkau jadikan dalam satu kali mandi saja?" Beliau menjawab: "Hal itu lebih bersih, lebih baik dan lebih suci."

Imam Ibn Majah compiled the last of the six major hadith collections (Kutub al-Sittah). He travelled widely to collect hadiths — through Iraq, Basra, Syria, Egypt, and Arabia. His collection contains unique narrations not found in the other five collections, though scholars note some weaker chains.
Ibn Majah's collection was later added to the Kutub al-Sittah by Imam al-Maqdisi. It contains approximately 4,341 hadiths including narrations unique to this collection.
