حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ سَالِمٍ أَبِي النَّضْرِ عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ قَالَأَرْسَلُونِي إِلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ أَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ الْمُرُورِ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ الْمُصَلِّي فَأَخْبَرَنِي عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَأَنْ يَقُومَ أَرْبَعِينَ خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمُرَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِقَالَ سُفْيَانُ فَلَا أَدْرِي أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً أَوْ شَهْرًا أَوْ صَبَاحًا أَوْ سَاعَةً
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Hisyam bin Ammar] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan bin Uyainah] dari [Salim Abu An Nadlr] dari [Busr bin Sa'id] berkata; Kaumku mengutusku menemui [Zaid bin Khalid], lalu aku bertanya kepadanya tentang hukum melintas di depan orang yang shalat. Maka ia pun memberiku kabar dari Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, beliau bersabda: "Sekiranya seseorang berdiri selama empat puluh, maka itu lebih baik daripada ia melintas di depan orang yang shalat. " Sufyan berkata, "Aku tidak tahu, apakah itu empat puluh tahun, atau empat puluh bulan, atau empat puluh pagi, atau empat puluh saat. "

Imam Ibn Majah compiled the last of the six major hadith collections (Kutub al-Sittah). He travelled widely to collect hadiths — through Iraq, Basra, Syria, Egypt, and Arabia. His collection contains unique narrations not found in the other five collections, though scholars note some weaker chains.
Ibn Majah's collection was later added to the Kutub al-Sittah by Imam al-Maqdisi. It contains approximately 4,341 hadiths including narrations unique to this collection.
