حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي كَرِيمَةَ الْحَرَّانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُلَاثَةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنِّي لَأَسْمَعُ بُكَاءَ الصَّبِيِّ فَأَتَجَوَّزُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ismail bin Abu karimah Al Harrani] berkata, telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Salamah] dari [Muhammad bin Abdullah bin 'Ulatsah] dari [Hisyam bin Hassan] dari [Al Hasan] dari [Utsman bin Abul 'Ash] ia berkata, "Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Aku mendengar tangisan bayi, maka akupun mempercepat shalat. "

Imam Ibn Majah compiled the last of the six major hadith collections (Kutub al-Sittah). He travelled widely to collect hadiths — through Iraq, Basra, Syria, Egypt, and Arabia. His collection contains unique narrations not found in the other five collections, though scholars note some weaker chains.
Ibn Majah's collection was later added to the Kutub al-Sittah by Imam al-Maqdisi. It contains approximately 4,341 hadiths including narrations unique to this collection.
