و حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الشَّاعِرِ حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّاءُ بْنُ إِسْحَقَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَكَانَتْ دِيَارُنَا نَائِيَةً عَنْ الْمَسْجِدِ فَأَرَدْنَا أَنْ نَبِيعَ بُيُوتَنَا فَنَقْتَرِبَ مِنْ الْمَسْجِدِ فَنَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ لَكُمْ بِكُلِّ خَطْوَةٍ دَرَجَةً
English Translation
Dan telah menceritakan kepada kami [Hajjaj bin Asy Syair] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Rauh bin 'Ubadah] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Zakariya bin Ishaq] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Zubair] katanya; aku mendengar [Jabir bin Abdullah] mengatakan; "Rumah kami terpencil dari masjid, maka kami ingin menjual rumah kami dengan harapan untuk kami pindahkan dekat masjid, maka Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam melarang kami seraya berujar: "Setiap langkah, kamu akan memperoleh pahala."

Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj was a student of Imam al-Bukhari. He compiled Sahih Muslim selecting from approximately 300,000 hadiths, arranging his collection thematically and grouping all chains of each hadith together — making it uniquely easy to study the complete transmission history of a single narration.
Sahih Muslim took 15 years to complete. Its unique arrangement — all isnads for one hadith in one place — remains unmatched in the hadith literature.
