حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ حَبِيبٍ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ كَسَفَتْ الشَّمْسُ ثَمَانَ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي أَرْبَعِ سَجَدَاتٍوَعَنْ عَلِيٍّ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Bakr bin Abu Syaibah] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Isma'il bin Ulayyah] dari [Sufyan] dari [Habib] dari [Thawus] dari [Ibnu Abbas] ia berkata; Ketika terjadi gerhana matahari, Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam shalat (gerhana) dengan delapan kali ruku' dan empat kali sujud (dalam dua raka'at). Dan dari [Ali bin Abu Thalib] juga diriwayatkan seperti itu.

Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj was a student of Imam al-Bukhari. He compiled Sahih Muslim selecting from approximately 300,000 hadiths, arranging his collection thematically and grouping all chains of each hadith together — making it uniquely easy to study the complete transmission history of a single narration.
Sahih Muslim took 15 years to complete. Its unique arrangement — all isnads for one hadith in one place — remains unmatched in the hadith literature.
