و حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْرُوفُ بْنُ خَرَّبُوذَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الطُّفَيْلِ يَقُولُارَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ وَيَسْتَلِمُ الرُّكْنَ بِمِحْجَنٍ مَعَهُ وَيُقَبِّلُ الْمِحْجَنَ
English Translation
Dan Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Al Mutsanna] Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sulaiman bin Dawud] Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ma'ruf bin Kharrabudz] ia berkata, saya mendengar [Abu Thufail] berkata; "Aku melihat Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam melakukan thawaf di Baitullah dan beliau mengusap rukun (Yamani) dengan menggunakan tongkat, lalu beliau mencium tongkat tersebut."

Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj was a student of Imam al-Bukhari. He compiled Sahih Muslim selecting from approximately 300,000 hadiths, arranging his collection thematically and grouping all chains of each hadith together — making it uniquely easy to study the complete transmission history of a single narration.
Sahih Muslim took 15 years to complete. Its unique arrangement — all isnads for one hadith in one place — remains unmatched in the hadith literature.
