و حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو غَسَّانَ الْمِسْمَعِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ هِشَامٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَكُنَّا نَعْزِلُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمْ يَنْهَنَا
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepadaku [Abu Ghassan Al Misma'i] telah meceritakan kepada kami [Mu'adz yaitu Ibnu Hisyam] telah menceritakan kepadaku [ayahku] dari [Abu Zubair] dari [Jabir] dia berkata; "Kami melakukan azl di masa Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, kemudian hal itu disampaikan kepada Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, namun beliau tidak melarang kami."

Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj was a student of Imam al-Bukhari. He compiled Sahih Muslim selecting from approximately 300,000 hadiths, arranging his collection thematically and grouping all chains of each hadith together — making it uniquely easy to study the complete transmission history of a single narration.
Sahih Muslim took 15 years to complete. Its unique arrangement — all isnads for one hadith in one place — remains unmatched in the hadith literature.
