و حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ اقْتَنَى كَلْبًا إِلَّا كَلْبَ صَيْدٍ أَوْ مَاشِيَةٍ نَقَصَ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطَانِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Bakar bin Abu Syaibah] dan [Zuhair bin Harb] dan [Ibnu Numair] mereka berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan] dari [Az Zuhri] dari [Salim] dari [Ayahnya] dari Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, beliau bersabda: "Barangsiapa memelihara anjing selain anjing untuk berburu atau anjing penjaga binatang ternak, maka pahalanya akan dikurangi dua qirath setiap harinya."

Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj was a student of Imam al-Bukhari. He compiled Sahih Muslim selecting from approximately 300,000 hadiths, arranging his collection thematically and grouping all chains of each hadith together — making it uniquely easy to study the complete transmission history of a single narration.
Sahih Muslim took 15 years to complete. Its unique arrangement — all isnads for one hadith in one place — remains unmatched in the hadith literature.
