حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَذْبَحُوا إِلَّا مُسِنَّةً إِلَّا أَنْ يَعْسُرَ عَلَيْكُمْ فَتَذْبَحُوا جَذَعَةً مِنْ الضَّأْنِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ahmad bin Yunus] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Zuhair] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Az Zubair] dari [Jabir] dia berkata, "Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Janganlah kamu sembelih hewan untuk berkurban, melainkan hewan yang telah dewasa (Musinnah). Jika itu sulit kamu peroleh, sebelihlah jadz'ah."

Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj was a student of Imam al-Bukhari. He compiled Sahih Muslim selecting from approximately 300,000 hadiths, arranging his collection thematically and grouping all chains of each hadith together — making it uniquely easy to study the complete transmission history of a single narration.
Sahih Muslim took 15 years to complete. Its unique arrangement — all isnads for one hadith in one place — remains unmatched in the hadith literature.
