حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ح و حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍعَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تَأْكُلُوا بِالشِّمَالِ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَأْكُلُ بِالشِّمَالِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Qutaibah bin Sa'id]; Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Laits]; Demikian juga telah diriwayatkan dari jalur yang lain; dan telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Rumh]; Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Al Laits] dari [Abu Zubair] dari [Jabir] dari Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, beliau bersabda: "Janganlah kalian makan dengan tangan kiri, karena setan makan dengan tangan kiri."

Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj was a student of Imam al-Bukhari. He compiled Sahih Muslim selecting from approximately 300,000 hadiths, arranging his collection thematically and grouping all chains of each hadith together — making it uniquely easy to study the complete transmission history of a single narration.
Sahih Muslim took 15 years to complete. Its unique arrangement — all isnads for one hadith in one place — remains unmatched in the hadith literature.
