حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى التَّمِيمِيُّ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَوْنٍ الْهِلَالِيُّ قَالَ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا و قَالَ ابْنُ عَوْنٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْكُلُ الْقِثَّاءَ بِالرُّطَبِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Yahya bin Yahya At Tamimi] dan [Abdullah bin 'Aun Al Hilali], Yahya berkata; Telah mengabarkan kepadaku, sedang Ibnu 'Aun berkata; Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ibrahim bin Sa'd] dari [Bapaknya] dari [Abdullah bin Ja'far] dia berkata; "Aku pernah melihat Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam memakan mentimun dengan ruthab (kurma basah yang baru matang)."

Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj was a student of Imam al-Bukhari. He compiled Sahih Muslim selecting from approximately 300,000 hadiths, arranging his collection thematically and grouping all chains of each hadith together — making it uniquely easy to study the complete transmission history of a single narration.
Sahih Muslim took 15 years to complete. Its unique arrangement — all isnads for one hadith in one place — remains unmatched in the hadith literature.
