و حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ زَائِدَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَصْدَقُ بَيْتٍ قَالَهُ الشَّاعِرُ أَلَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ مَا خَلَا اللَّهَ بَاطِلٌوَكَادَ ابْنُ أَبِي الصَّلْتِ أَنْ يُسْلِمَ
English Translation
Dan telah menceritakan kepadaku [Ibnu Abu 'Umar]; Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan] dari [Zaidah] dari ['Abdul Malik bin 'Umair] dari [Abu Salamah bin 'Abdur Rahman] dari [Abu Hurairah] bahwa Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Sya'ir paling benar yang pernah di ucapkan oleh penyair adalah syair: "Alaa, kullu syaiin maa khalallaha bathil (Ketahuilah, segala sesuatu selain Allah itu pasti binasa)." Hingga hampir saja Umayyah bin Abu Shalt masuk Islam.

Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj was a student of Imam al-Bukhari. He compiled Sahih Muslim selecting from approximately 300,000 hadiths, arranging his collection thematically and grouping all chains of each hadith together — making it uniquely easy to study the complete transmission history of a single narration.
Sahih Muslim took 15 years to complete. Its unique arrangement — all isnads for one hadith in one place — remains unmatched in the hadith literature.
