حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ لَعِبَ بِالنَّرْدَشِيرِ فَكَأَنَّمَا صَبَغَ يَدَهُ فِي لَحْمِ خِنْزِيرٍ وَدَمِهِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepadaku [Zuhair bin Harb]; Telah menceritakan kepada kami ['Abdur Rahman bin Mahdi] dari [Sufyan] dari ['Alqamah bin Martsad] dari [Sulaiman bin Buraidah] dari [Bapaknya] bahwa Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Barang Siapa yang bermain dengan permainan Nardasyir (sejenis catur), maka seolah-olah ia telah melumuri tangannya dengan daging dan darah babi."

Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj was a student of Imam al-Bukhari. He compiled Sahih Muslim selecting from approximately 300,000 hadiths, arranging his collection thematically and grouping all chains of each hadith together — making it uniquely easy to study the complete transmission history of a single narration.
Sahih Muslim took 15 years to complete. Its unique arrangement — all isnads for one hadith in one place — remains unmatched in the hadith literature.
