أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي وَلِجَوْفِهِ أَزِيزٌ كَأَزِيزِ الْمِرْجَلِ يَعْنِي يَبْكِي
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Suwaid bin Nashr] dia berkata; telah memberitakan kepada kami ['Abdullah] dari [Hammad bin Salamah] dari [Tsabit Al Bannani] dari [Mutharrif] dari [bapaknya], dia berkata; "Aku datang kepada Nabi Shallallahu'alaihiwasallam yang sedang shalat dan dalam dadanya terdengar suara seperti air yang mendidih dalam periuk - yakni: beliau menangis."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
