أَخْبَرَنِي مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ عَنْ عَيَّاشِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ حَفْصَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ رَوَاحُ الْجُمُعَةِ وَاجِبٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُحْتَلِمٍ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepadaku [Mahmud bin Ghailan] dia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Al Walid bin Muslim] dia berkata; telah menceritakan kepadaku [Al Mufadhdhal bin Fadhalah] dari ['Ayyasy bin 'Abbas] dari [Bukair bin Al Asyaj] dari [Nafi'] dari [Ibnu 'Umar] dari [Hafshah] -istri Nabi Shalallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam- bahwa Nabi Shallallahu 'Alahi Wa Sallam bersabda: "Mendatangi shalat Jum'at hukumnya wajib bagi setiap (muslim) yang sudah baligh (dewasa)."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
