أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عِيسَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُوتِرُ بِثَلَاثٍ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْأُولَى بِسَبِّحْ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَفِي الثَّانِيَةِ بِقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَفِي الثَّالِثَةِ بِقُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌأَوْقَفَهُ زُهَيْرٌ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Al Husain bin 'Isa] dia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Usamah] dia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Zakaria bin Abu Zaidah] dari [Abu Ishaq] dari [Sa'id bin Jubair] dari [Ibnu 'Abbas] dia berkata; "Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam mengerjakan shalat witir tiga rakaat. Pada rakaat pertama beliau membaca surah Al A'laa, pada rakaat kedua membaca surah Al Kaafiruun, dan pada rakaat ketiga beliau membaca Qul Huwallahu ahad."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
