أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ وَابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ وَابْنِ إِسْحَقَ وَمَالِكِ بْنُ أَنَسٍ عَنْ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَقُلْتُ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ رَأَيْتُكَ تُهِلُّ إِذَا اسْتَوَتْ بِكَ نَاقَتُكَ قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُهِلُّ إِذَا اسْتَوَتْ بِهِ نَاقَتُهُ وَانْبَعَثَتْ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Al 'Ala`], ia berkata; telah memberitakan kepada kami [Ibnu Idris] dari [Ubaidullah] serta [Ibnu Juraij], [Ibnu Ishaq] dan [Malik bin Anas] dari [Al Maqburi] dari ['Ubaid bin Juraij], ia berkata; saya mengatakan kepada Ibnu Umar; saya melihat mengucapkan do'a talbiyah apabila untamu berdiri membawa dirimu. Maka [Ibnu Umar] berkata; sesungguhnya Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam mengucapkan doa talbiyah apabila untanya telah berdiri dan bangkit membawa dirinya.

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
