أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا إِذَا كَانُوا حَاضِرِينَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ بَعَثَ بِالْهَدْيِ فَمَنْ شَاءَ أَحْرَمَ وَمَنْ شَاءَ تَرَكَ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Qutaibah], ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Al Laits] dari [Abu Az Zubair] dari [Jabir] bahwa mereka apabila hadir bersama Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam di Madinah, beliau mengirimkan hewan kurban. Siapa yang menghendaki untuk berihram maka ia berihram dan siapa yang menghendaki untuk tidak berihram maka ia meninggalkan ihram.

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
