أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا قَيْسُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍأَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ لِزَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ مَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُهْدِيَ لَهُ عُضْوُ صَيْدٍ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ فَلَمْ يَقْبَلْهُ قَالَ نَعَمْ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Ahmad bin Sulaiman], ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami ['Affan], ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Hammad bin Salamah], ia berkata; telah memberitakan kepada kami [Qais bin Sa'd] dari ['Atho`] bahwa [Ibnu Abbas] berkata kepada [Zaid bin Arqam]; "Apakah engkau tahu bahwa Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam pernah diberi hadiah bagian dari hewan buruan sedang beliau dalam keadaan berihram kemudian beliau tidak menerimanya? Ia berkata; "Iya."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
