أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ الْبَصْرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ حَبِيبٍ عَنْ الْحَجَّاجِ الصَّوَّافِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنْ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْأَنْصَارِيِّأَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ عَرِجَ أَوْ كُسِرَ فَقَدْ حَلَّ وَعَلَيْهِ حَجَّةٌ أُخْرَىفَسَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ وَأَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَا صَدَقَ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Humaid bin Mas'adah Al Bashri], ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan yaitu Ibnu Hubaib] dari [Al Hajjaj Ash Shawwaf] dari [Yahya bin Abi Katsir] dari ['Ikrimah] dari [Al Hajjaj bin 'Amr Al Anshari] bahwa ia pernah mendengar Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Barang siapa yang mengalami pincang atau pecah tulang, sungguh ia telah bertahallul dan ia wajib untuk melakukan haji yang lain." Kemudian saya bertanya kepada [Ibnu Umar], serta [Abu Hurairah] mengenai hal tersebut, maka mereka berkata; ia benar.

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
