أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ أَنَّ مَوْلًى لِأَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَجِئْتُ مَعَ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ مِنًى بِغَلَسٍ فَقُلْتُ لَهَا لَقَدْ جِئْنَا مِنًى بِغَلَسٍ فَقَالَتْ قَدْ كُنَّا نَصْنَعُ هَذَا مَعَ مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْكَ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Salamah], ia berkata; telah memberitakan kepadaku [Ibnu Al Qasim], ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepadaku [Malik] dari [Yahya bin Sa'id] dari ['Atho` bin Abi Rabah] bahwa [sahaya Asma` binti Abi Bakr] telah mengabarkan kepadanya, ia berkata; saya pernah datang ke Mina bersama Asma` binti Abi Bakar pada malam hari, [Asma`] berkata; dahulu kami pernah melakukan hal ini bersama orang yang lebih baik darimu.

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
