أَخْبَرَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ عَنْ الْبَرَاءِأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ كَلِمَةً مَعْنَاهَا قَالَ ائْتُونِي بِالْكَتِفِ وَاللَّوْحِ فَكَتَبَ{ لَا يَسْتَوِي الْقَاعِدُونَ مِنْ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ }وَعَمْرُو بْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ خَلْفَهُ فَقَالَ هَلْ لِي رُخْصَةٌ فَنَزَلَتْ{ غَيْرُ أُولِي الضَّرَرِ }
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Nashr bin Ali], ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Mu'tamir] dari [ayahnya] dari [Abu Ishaq] dari [Al Barra`] bahwa Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam ….kemudian ia menyebutkan sebuah kalimat yang maknanya adalah beliau bersabda; datanglah kepadaku membawa tulang pundak serta sebuah papan, kemudian beliau menulis LAA YASTAWIL QAA'IDUUNA MINAL MUKMINIIN, dan 'Amr bin Ummi Maktum dibelakang beliau, kemudian ia berkata; apakah saya mendapatkan keringanan? Lalu turunlah ayat GHAIRU ULIDHDHARAR.

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
