أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَتُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعِنْدَهُ تِسْعُ نِسْوَةٍ يُصِيبُهُنَّ إِلَّا سَوْدَةَ فَإِنَّهَا وَهَبَتْ يَوْمَهَا وَلَيْلَتَهَا لِعَائِشَةَ
English Translation
Telah mengkhabarkan kepada kami [Ibrahim bin Ya'qub], ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ibnu Abi Maryam], ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan], ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepadaku ['Amr bin Dinar] dari ['Atho`] dari [Ibnu Abbas] ia berkata; Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam wafat dan beliau memiliki sembilan istri yang semua telah beliau gauli kecuali Saudah karena ia memberikan hari-hari dan malamnya untuk 'Aisyah.

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
