أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ دُرُسْتَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْمَعِيلَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى أَنَّ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تُنْكَحُ الثَّيِّبُ حَتَّى تُسْتَأْذَنَ وَلَا تُنْكَحُ الْبِكْرُ حَتَّى تُسْتَأْمَرَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ إِذْنُهَا قَالَ إِذْنُهَا أَنْ تَسْكُتَ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Yahya bin Durusta], ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Isma'il], ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Yahya] bahwa [Abu Salamah] telah menceritakan kepadanya dari [Abu Hurairah] bahwa Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Seorang janda tidak dinikahkan hingga ia dimintai persetujuan, dan seorang gadis tidak dinikahkan hingga dimintai persetujuan." Para sahabat bertanya; wahai Rasulullah, bagaimana izinnya? Beliau bersabda: "Izinya adalah diam."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
