أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قُدَامَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ أَبِي السَّنَابِلِ قَالَوَضَعَتْ سُبَيْعَةُ حَمْلَهَا بَعْدَ وَفَاةِ زَوْجِهَا بِثَلَاثَةٍ وَعِشْرِينَ أَوْ خَمْسَةٍ وَعِشْرِينَ لَيْلَةً فَلَمَّا تَعَلَّتْ تَشَوَّفَتْ لِلْأَزْوَاجِ فَعِيبَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهَا فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ مَا يَمْنَعُهَا قَدْ انْقَضَى أَجَلُهَا
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Qudamah] ia berkata; telah mengabarkan kepadaku [Jarir] dari [Manshur] dari [Ibrahim] dari [Al Aswad] dari [Abu As Sanabil] ia berkata, "Subai'ah telah melahirkan kandungannya dua puluh tiga atau dua puluh malam setelah kematian suaminya. Kemudian setelah suci ia berhias untuk menikah, maka ia mendapat celaan karena hal itu. Kemudian hal tersebut diceritakan kepada Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, beliau lantas bersabda: "Apa yang menghalanginya? Sungguh telah selesai waktunya."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
