أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْقُطَعِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى وَذَكَرَ كَلِمَةً مَعْنَاهَا حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا حَلَفْتَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ فَرَأَيْتَ غَيْرَهَا خَيْرًا مِنْهَا فَكَفِّرْ عَنْ يَمِينِكَ وَأْتِ الَّذِي هُوَ خَيْرٌ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Yahya Al Qutha'I] dari [Abdul A'la] -dan ia menyebutkan sebuah kalimat yang maknanya- telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sa'id] dari [Qatadah] dari [Al Hasan] dari ['Abdurrahman bin Samurah], bahwa Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Apabila engkau bersumpah dengan suatu sumpah kemudian melihat yang lainnya lebih baik darinya, maka hendaklah kamu bayar kafarah sumpahmu dan lakukan sesuatu yang lebih baik."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
