أَخْبَرَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَبَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ حَلَفَ فَاسْتَثْنَى فَإِنْ شَاءَ مَضَى وَإِنْ شَاءَ تَرَكَ غَيْرَ حَنِثٍ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Ahmad bin Sa'id] berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Habban] berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abdul Warits] berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ayyub] dari [Nafi'] dari [Ibnu Umar] dari Nabi shallallahu 'alahi wa sallam, beliau bersabda: "Barangsiapa bersumpah kemudian mengecualikan, apabila ia menghendaki maka ia teruskan dan apabila menghendaki maka ia meninggalkannya tanpa ada dosa."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
