أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ قَالَكَانَ عَمَّايَ يَزْرَعَانِ بِالثُّلُثِ وَالرُّبُعِ وَأَبِي شَرِيكَهُمَا وَعَلْقَمَةُ وَالْأَسْوَدُ يَعْلَمَانِ فَلَا يُغَيِّرَانِ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Ali bin Hujr] telah memberitakan kepada kami [Syarik] dari [Abu Ishaq] dari [Abdur Rahman bin Al Aswad], dia berkata; "Dua orang pamanku bercocok tanam dengan mendapatkan sepertiga dan seperempat dan ayahku bekerjasama dengan keduanya, [Alqomah] dan [Al Aswad] mengetahui hal itu namun mereka tidak mengingkarinya."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
