أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ أَمْسَكَ كَلْبًا إِلَّا كَلْبًا ضَارِيًا أَوْ كَلْبَ مَاشِيَةٍ نَقَصَ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطَانِ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Qutaibah], ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Al Laits] dari [Nafi'] dari [Ibnu Umar] bahwa ia mendengar Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Barang siapa yang menahan anjing kecuali anjing pemburu dan anjing penjaga hewan ternak maka telh berkurng dari pahalanya setiap hari sebanyak dua qirath.

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
