أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَكُنَّا نَتَمَتَّعُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَنَذْبَحُ الْبَقَرَةَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ وَنَشْتَرِكُ فِيهَا
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Al Mutsanna] dari [Yahya] dari [Abdul Malik] dari ['Atho`] dari [Jabir], ia berkata; kami melakukan haji tamattu' bersama Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, kemudian kami menyembelih sapi untuk orang tujuk dan kami berserikat padanya.

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
