أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِيسَى عَنْ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ وَذَكَرَ كَلِمَةً مَعْنَاهَا أَخْبَرَنِي مَخْرَمَةُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُأَرْسَلْتُ الْمِقْدَادَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ الْمَذْيِ فَقَالَ تَوَضَّأْ وَانْضَحْ فَرْجَكَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ مَخْرَمَةُ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنْ أَبِيهِ شَيْئًا
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Ahmad bin Isa] dari [Ibnu Wahab] dan dia menyebutkan satu kalimat yang maksudnya adalah telah mengabarkan kepadaku [Makhramah bin Bukair] dari [Bapaknya] dari [Sulaiman bin Yasar] dari [Ibnu Abbas] dia berkata; [Ali] Radliyallahu'anhu berkata; "Aku mengutus Miqdad kepada Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam untuk bertanya tentang madzi? lalu beliau bersabda: Berwudlulah dan basahi atau perciki kemaluanmu." Abu Abdurrahman berkata; Makhramah tidak pernah mendengar dari Bapaknya sedikitpun.

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
