أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَأَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ خَصَى عَبْدَهُ خَصَيْنَاهُ وَمَنْ جَدَعَ عَبْدَهُ جَدَعْنَاهُوَاللَّفْظُ لِابْنِ بَشَّارٍ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Al Mutsanna] dan [Muhammad bin Basysyar], mereka berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Mu'adz bin Hisyam] telah menceritakan kepadaku [ayahku] dari [Qatadah] dari [Al Hasan] dari [Samurah] bahwa Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Barang siapa yang mengebiri budaknya maka kami akan mengebirinya dan barang siapa yang memotong ujung-ujungnya maka kami akan memotong ujungnya." Lafazh hadits tersebut adalah lafazh Ibnu Basysyar.

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
