أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَزِيعٍ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا يَزِيدُ عَنْ خَالِدٍ عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ أَوْسٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدَّثَهُأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ مَكَّةَ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ قَالَ أَلَا وَإِنَّ قَتِيلَ الْخَطَإِ الْعَمْدِ قَتِيلَ السَّوْطِ وَالْعَصَا مِنْهَا أَرْبَعُونَ فِي بُطُونِهَا أَوْلَادُهَا
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Bazi'] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Yazid] dari [Khalid] dari [Al Qasim bin Rabi'ah] dari [Ya'qub bin Aus] bahwa [salah seorang sahabat] Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bercerita kepadanya bahwa Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam datang ke Mekkah pada saat penaklukan Mekkah, beliau bersabda: "Ketahuilah, sesungguhnya orang yang terbunuh karena ketidak sengajaan adalah (seperti) orang yang terbunuh (karena disiksa) dengan cambuk dan tongkat. Sebagian dari (diyat) nya adalah empat puluh ekor unta yang lagi bunting."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
