أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الطَّائِفِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍأَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَضَى فِي الْمُكَاتَبِ أَنْ يُودَى بِقَدْرِ مَا عَتَقَ مِنْهُ دِيَةَ الْحُرِّ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Muhammad bin 'Ubaidullah bin Yazid] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Utsman bin Abdur Rahman Ath Thaifi] telah menceritakan kepada kami [Mu'awiyah] dari [Yahya bin Abu Katsir] dari [Ikrimah] dari [Ibnu Abbas] bahwa Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam memutuskan diyat bagi budak mukatab adalah (seperti) diyat orang yang merdeka sesuai dengan kadar (harga) kebebasannya.

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
