أَخْبَرَنَا رِزْقُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ مُوسَى عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْأُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِسَارِقٍ فَقَطَعَهُ قَالُوا مَا كُنَّا نُرِيدُ أَنْ يَبْلُغَ مِنْهُ هَذَا قَالَ لَوْ كَانَتْ فَاطِمَةَ لَقَطَعْتُهَا
English Translation
Telah mengkhabarkan kepada kami [Rizqullah bin Musa], dia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan] dari [Ayyub bin Musa] dari [Az Zuhri] dari ['Urwah] dari [Aisyah], dia berkata; Telah dihadapkan seorang pencuri kepada Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam kemudian beliau memotong tangannya. Mereka mengatakan; "Kami tidak ingin hal ini terjadi padanya." Beliau bersabda: "Seandainya dia adalah Fathimah niscaya saya akan memotong tangannya."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
