أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَاقَطَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي رُبْعِ دِينَارٍ
English Translation
Telah mengkhabarkan kepada kami [Qutaibah], dia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ja'far bin Sulaiman] dari [Hafsh bin Hassan] dari [Az Zuhri] dari ['Urwah] dari [Aisyah radliallahu 'anha]; "Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam memotong tangan pencuri barang yang harganya empat dinar."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
