أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَبَيْنَمَا النَّاسُ بِقُبَاءَ فِي صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ جَاءَهُمْ آتٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ اللَّيْلَةَ وَقَدْ أُمِرَ أَنْ يَسْتَقْبِلَ الْكَعْبَةَ فَاسْتَقْبِلُوهَاوَكَانَتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ إِلَى الشَّامِ فَاسْتَدَارُوا إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Qutaibah] dari [Malik] dari [Abdullah bin Dinar] dari [Ibnu Umar] dia berkata; "Tatkala orang-orang berada di Quba saat shalat Subuh, datanglah seseorang, lalu berkata, " Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam pada malam ini mendapat wahyu, dan beliau diperintahkan menghadap ke Ka'bah', maka beralihlah kalian menghadap ke Ka'bah. Sebelumnya wajah-wajah mereka menghadap ke Syam (Baitul Maqdis), lalu mereka berputar (menghadap) ke Ka'bah."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
