أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُفَضَّلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَنَسًا يَقُولُقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يُؤْمِنُ أَحَدُكُمْ حَتَّى أَكُونَ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ وَلَدِهِ وَوَالِدِهِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ
English Translation
Telah mengkhabarkan kepada kami [Humaid bin Mas'adah], dia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Bisyr yaitu Ibnu Al Mufadhdhal], dia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Syu'bah] dari [Qatadah] bahwa ia mendengar [Anas] berkata; "Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Tidaklah sempurna keimanan salah seorang di antara kalian hingga aku lebih dia cintai daripada anaknya, orang tuannya dan seluruh umat manusia."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
