أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَخْلَدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الْبَرَاءُ قَالَمَا رَأَيْتُ رَجُلًا أَحْسَنَ فِي حُلَّةٍ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ وَرَأَيْتُ لَهُ لِمَّةً تَضْرِبُ قَرِيبًا مِنْ مَنْكِبَيْهِ
English Translation
Telah mengkhabarkan kepada kami [Abdul Hamid bin Muhammad], dia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Makhlad], dia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Yunus bin Abu Ishaq] dari [ayahnya], dia berkata; telah menceritakan kepadaku [Al Bara`], dia berkata; "Saya tidak melihat seseorang yang lebih baik ketika memakai pakaian merah daripada Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam." Dia juga berkata; "Saya juga melihat rambut beliau hampir menyentuh kedua pundak beliau."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
