أَخْبَرَنِي الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى لَا تَصْبُغُ فَخَالِفُوا عَلَيْهِمْ فَاصْبُغُوا
English Translation
Telah mengkhabarkan kepadaku [Al Husain bin Huraits], dia berkata; telah memberitakan kepada kami [Al Fadhl bin Musa] dari [Ma'mar] dari [Az Zuhri] dari [Abu Salamah] dari [Abu Hurairah], dia berkata; "Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Sesungguhnya orang-orang Yahudi dan Nashrani tidak menyemir rambut, maka selisihilah mereka, dan semirlah rambut kalian."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
