أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْهَى عَنْ الْقَزَعِ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepadaku [Ibrahim Ibnul Hasan] ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Hajjaj] ia berkata; [Ibnu Juraij] berkata; telah mengabarkan kepadaku [Ubaidullah] dari [Nafi'] bahwasanya ia mengabarkan kepadanya, bahwa ia pernah mendengar [Ibnu Umar] berkata, "Aku mendengar Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam melarang Al qaza' (mencukur sebagian kepala dan membiarkan sebagian yang lain)."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
