أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍأَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْهَرَمِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَفِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ
English Translation
Telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Muhammad Ibnu Al Mutsanna] dari [Mu'adz bin Hisyam] ia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Ayahku] dari [Qatadah] dari [Anas] bahwa Nabi Allah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam mengucapkan: "ALLAHUMMA INNI A'UUDZU BIKA MINAL 'AJZI WAL KASALI WAL BUKHLI WAL HARAMI WA 'ADZAABIL QABRI WA FITNATIL MAHYAA WAL MAMAATI (Ya Allah, sesungguhnya aku berlindung kepada-Mu dari kelemahan, kemalasan, kikir, pikun, siksa kubur dan fitnah dunia dan setelah mati)."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
