أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنَادِ عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يُصَلِّيَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الثَّوْبِ الْوَاحِدِ لَيْسَ عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ
English Translation
Telah mengkabarkan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Manshur] dia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sufyan] dia berkata; telah menceritakan kepada kami [Abu Az-Zinad] dari [Al A'raj] dari [Abu Hurairah] dia berkata; Rasulullah Shallallahu'alaihi wasallam bersabda, "Janganlah salah seorang dari kalian shalat dengan satu kain, yang kain tersebut di lehernya sama sekali tak ada apa-apanya (tidak ada pengikat, kancing, benik pengikat)."

Imam an-Nasa'i applied the strictest conditions of all Sunan compilers. He first wrote a larger collection (as-Sunan al-Kubra) then condensed it into al-Mujtaba. He was particularly rigorous in identifying weaknesses in narrator chains, resulting in a collection of very high reliability.
An-Nasa'i's conditions for accepting narrators were stricter than those of Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi, making al-Mujtaba one of the most critically refined of the Sunan collections.
