حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَقَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي دَاوُدُ بْنُ الْحُصَيْنِ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَرَدَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ابْنَتَهُ زَيْنَبَ عَلَى أَبِي الْعَاصِي بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ بَعْدَ سِتِّ سِنِينَ بِالنِّكَاحِ الْأَوَّلِ وَلَمْ يُحْدِثْ نِكَاحًاقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ لَيْسَ بِإِسْنَادِهِ بَأْسٌ وَلَكِنْ لَا نَعْرِفُ وَجْهَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ وَلَعَلَّهُ قَدْ جَاءَ هَذَا مِنْ قِبَلِ دَاوُدَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ مِنْ قِبَلِ حِفْظِهِ
English Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Hannad], telah menceritakan kepada kami [Yunus bin Bukair] dari [Muhammad bin Ishaq] berkata; telah menceritakan kepadaku [Daud bin Al Hushain] dari [Ikrimah] dari [Ibnu Abbas] berkata; "Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam mengembalikan putrinya Zainab kepada suaminya Abu Al Ash bin Ar Rabi' setelah berlalu enam tahun dengan nikah yang pertama tanpa memperbaruinya." Abu Isa berkata; "Sanad hadits ini tidak masalah, tapi tidak kami ketahui sumbernya. Sepertinya hadits ini dari hafalan Daud bin Hushain."

Imam at-Tirmidhi was a student of Imam al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud. His collection is distinctive for including the grading (hasan, sahih, da'if) of each hadith alongside notes on which madhab (legal school) relies on it — making it both a hadith collection and a work of hadith criticism.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi is the only collection in the Kutub al-Sittah where the compiler grades every hadith himself, notes scholarly differences, and indicates legal usage.
